Fall is here and like the last two years I've gotten in that technical frame of mind again. I'm learning PHP this time with hopes of resurrecting the game I started so long ago. The learning curve is a bitch though, I spent two days trying to get one simple script to work.

My new router came today and I'm back in business. I'm pleased with Linksys, the router had a three year warranty and they shipped the new one right away. I had a little trouble getting the wireless connection to work and the support guy was patient, spoke good enough English for me to understand what he was saying and solved the problem. The only complaint I have is that I have to pay return postage for a warranty claim.

As far as frame of mind, the dark clouds have rolled away and I'm feeling as close to normal as I get these days. Thanks to my online friends for your help, I haven't been that far down in a while.

Here I am feeling pretty good again, a bit hypomanic, but when I finally get sleepy I have no idea what the morning will bring. Anyone can say that, I know, but are people's lives so changeable? One day up, the next day down or so high up it's scary? I used to think everyone was as messed up me but now I don't know, I realize I have no gauge for normal.

My router decided to crap out so I'm going to be limited online until the replacement gets here... got a cable stretched now but it's in the way so I'm not going to use it when the Snail is around. He's doing the D&D thing tonight, good thing, I was getting tense about no online access. I don't know why, really, it's not like I'm doing anything pressing. I don't even surf that much but I like having it there, kind of like a not-so-distant sound of the sea, soothing. I keep the tv on all the time for the same reason.

I finally got approved for medicaid so next week I'm getting glasses and going to the dentist. I'm glad but I'm not looking forward to it.

I dreamed I got fired from a strange job on trumped up charges, I got up and smoked a cigarette. I dreamed that I was in the parking lot of the same strange job and my car had been stolen, I got up and smoked a cigarette. I dreamed that the strange job was a scam, they hire you, steal your car and fire you on trumped up charges. I got up, smoked a cigarette and stayed up.

Drive-thru

Oh for the days of cleaning and mopping, drive-thru is the worst. I just can't seem to juggle everything at once. Take orders, make drinks, take money, make change, get condiments and hand out food. Sounds simple and it is until it all has to go on at the same time non-stop for hours. I can't manage to talk to customers at the window and over the headset at the same time, I can't make change, drinks and take orders simultaneously. The worst part is the hours of standing in one place with the headset clamped to my ear, I get a headache, my ear hurts and my feet kill me. God I hope I get dining room today.
