When Wizards Dream - 2
Wizard detail
"He's young... too young.", they spoke about him like he wasn't there. He didn't mind that but they talked as if he was theirs to do with as they wished and that he resented deeply. He was no one's to command, no matter that he was just a boy, he was a half-wizard and deserved their respect. Endless study and practice made him the youngest half-wizard in centuries, he earned the right to be there. He held back his anger and stood under their scrutiny and discussion, their conclusion was as he hoped. "No matter his age, it's his privilege to take a quest." "Even though he'll probably never return?" "He has the right to choose just as we once did." They turned their attention back to him, "You are half-wizard Relg Tonreth, choose your destiny." "I will be as you," he responded, "my quest will make me whole."
Everyone feared detail, even the other wizards at the school. It wasn't that he was the most powerful wizard there, one of the most powerful in the universe, it wasn't his fearsome demeanor, as imposing as it was, it was the eyes that made even the strongest quake before him. He was a questor and his entire purpose at the school was to find quests for the graduating half-wizards who wanted to become full wizards. He quested all his wizard life, knew everything there was to know about them and over the centuries he developed the ability to know exactly what kind of quest a student needed. Every half-wizard who survived one of his quests eventually became full wizards, few survived, though, but that's the nature of quests.
