All Wrong
I had it all wrong, turns out it wasn't Loretta that called in, it was Lucee. For the third time her car broke down out of town, seems to always happen on a Friday night. I could care less, she disrupts my shifts anyway. Alright, I'll admit it, I was foolish enough to become a manager at Fast-n-Eat... that extra credit an hour blinded me to how crappy it was going to be. Anyway, Loretta came in on my shift again, uninvited, without saying a word to me, just clocks in and starts sort-of working. Thing is, she wasn't scheduled today and it seems to me that she just decided to come in anytime she wants to earn a few extra credits. Sounds like I'm begruding her the money but that's not it, I could care less if it didn't come out of my pocket. They measure everything at Fast-n-Eat, from fly-thru times to the number of tomatoes they put on a Dponian Munch. Based on history and forecast they tell us managers how many hours of labor we're allowed for our shifts, if we go over expect to get bitched out, if it keeps happening no raise, then no job. So, everytime Loretta wants a few extra bucks, I end up paying.
