Midnight Snack

Allan washed the blood from his hands and looked at the clock; midnight, time to meet Fred. Fred always worried if Allan was late; he took his traditions seriously. Allan locked the butcher shop door behind him and hurried across the moon-washed street to Berrington's House of Wings. He pushed on the door but it was locked. Fred always had the door open for him; it was their time for wings, beer, and poker. Allan rapped on the door and waited. The night was cold and Allan shifted from foot to foot, hands pushed deep in his pockets, trying to stay warm. He rapped again and, after another long wait, was about to turn aroud and get back to work. The door blind shifted and he saw a pair of eyes peering out at him. "C'mon Fred, it's cold out here." The door opened and Allan stomped his cold feet into the restraunt. "Get busy tonight, Fred? You don't usually forget..." He stopped when he saw the look on Fred's face. "What is it, Fred? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"They found another on last night," Fred whispered. "I'm scared."

Allan knew what he was talking about; it was all the town had been talking about the last two months. Every other night another dead body was found, freshly killed, drained of blood. They were calling them the Vampire Killings in the news. There were those in town who took it literally; the stores were always out of garlic these days. It was also all Fred talked about and, frankly, Allan was sick of hearing it so, when Fred began, "But Al..." Allan cut in, his voice dripping with scorn, "Don't be stupid, Fred. A vampire? This isn't Transylvania. Hell, it's some nut poking hole's into peoples necks. It's a sick world out there but a vampire? Get the wings, Fred, we're too old to be playing bogeyman."

His voice almost a whine, Fred began again, "But, Al, you don't get it. The victim's picture was in the paper today..."

Allan dropped into a seat and pulled a pack of blood-stained cards from his bloody apron, "Don't be such a sissy; it's time to play a man's game. You've got fifty bucks of mine and I plan..."

"Allan!" Fred broke in hysterically, "The victims are steady customers of mine! What if the police suspect me?"

Allan reached over and gripped Fred's shoulder, "You didn't do it, Fred, and you have the perfect alibi. All the killings were done at night an I stare at your ugly mug every night from across the street while I get your daily order ready. You got nothing to worry about, Fred, so drop it."

Fred sighed and moved behind the counter to get their snack. "Alright, Al, I guess I let my imagination run away from me."

Their customary hour passed as usual, wings, beer, and poker. Allan scooped the blood-stained cards up and stuck them back in his blooody apron pocket. "I'll get you yet, Fred," he said with a grin. "In the meantime, take good care of my money." Fred laughed but Allan still heard the fear in his voice and he was very quick to lock the door after Allan stepped out into the night.

The butcher shop was nearly dark whe he stepped inside. He froze when he heard a rustle in the back. His eyes darted around the moonlit store but nothing looked out of place. "Geez, Fred, now you've got me going," he whispered to himself. He began to walk into the cutting room when he heard the rustle again. His heart skipped a beat as he reached for a cleaver. The finely-honed blade was raised high as he burst into the bloody room with a loud yell. He slammed the cleaver down, sticking it into the chopping block, and reached for one of the live chickens fluttering in its pen. "Well," he laughed, "we'll make short work of you..."

Allan jumped at the sound of a knock at his shop door. He stood for a moment, wringing his bloody apron, as the knocking continued then laughed nervously. "Hold your horses, Fred!" he called out as he opened the door. "What did you forg..." He froze with the door halway open, his face pale with fear. He saw death in its eyes and he screamed in terror as the bloody-fanged chicken flew at his neck.

Team America: World Police

Have you, or those you know, ever been the target of, or have ever used racial, cultural, or some such other targeted slurs? Of course, there are slurs for everyone or anything imaginable; somewhere, sometime, someone is going to piss us off enough to make us say, or shout, something. I'm just writing about one subset of targeted slurs, one defined in the above quote.

This "crazy, crazy world" has enough problems without all the unrest and violence stirred up by poorly aimed declarations of anger and frustration. Why yell something that usually rolls off the backs of most people that get on our very last nerve? When we shoot poorly-aimed slurs people get hit we never intended to hit and the people we do want to hit just get mad whout knowing the real reason why we yelled at them.

I look to Team America for the answer. Let's drop the slurs that offend the innocent and call ducks, ducks, or, based on Team America's defintion, assholes, assholes.

Day 16/365: Sharing The Load

I have to admit, not all my writing is original thinking. I like bouncing my ideas off friends; we often work out story ideas together.

It began with my son, The Snail, and bedtime stories. We began storytime the same way every time. I'd say, "Time for bed." and he usually got ready quickly. I'd lay down next to him and we'd work on relaxed breathing together then I'd ask, "What do you want to hear about?" When he was younger he'd want me to tell stories about him in different situations, like riding a dragon or being Superman's friend but, when he was older, we worked out more elaborate stories that went on for weeks. One of the characters we worked out is now a character in one of my books.

I took a creative writing course in college and was told that my dislogue was unrealistic and needed a lot of work. I didn't go forward at that point. I got too busy with work and family life, but I rediscovered my dream to write in an unexpected way, online role-playing.

I learned a lot about character development playing with other characters and talking to them out-of-character (OOC). For example, one player taught me that my characters had to be vulnerable in some sort of way, even if they were immortal or god-like, otherwise they would be no better than cartoons.

The people I role-played with stressed realism so I learned how to accurately describe things and be quick on my feet in order to react to situations around them. There were times, when we were playing combat scenes, that I would physically act out scenes in order to respond realistically.

We stressed conciseness so I learned to describe things quickly with as few words as possible.

The three main characters in my book, The Thrall Wars, were developed online. Some parts of the novel arose from scenes we played out, chat logs that were converted to prose, and posted parts of the storyline.

Role-playing my characters got me the dialogue and story development practice I needed. The immediacy of online role-playing did more to teach me writing than any creative writing course I took by giving me feedback as soon as I wrote something and by the continuous refinement of my characters and their stories as I interacted with different, sometimes unexpected, characters, and reacted to different, sometimes unexpected situations.

We went to Deckers to party. We drove along the river waving and shouting with campsites of partiers. Weed and beer was passed to us as tired hikers hitched rides on the hood and tailgate.

When we found our campsite we got out of the car just in time to watch one needle freak shoot up another with speed. The big reciever groaned, "Whoa..." and fell on his back, the needle was still in his arm. He lay twitching a moment, got up, said, "Man..." and wandered away with the shooter.

After we got acquainted with all the people at the fire we sat around smoking weed. Dave and I, already high on mescaline (we called it mescaline, it was really kind of an artificial mescaline made of several types of watered down acid), talked about mystical things, John was talking with the only girl there, Gary was watching the fire and talking with a friend that spent the entire night rolling joints. He never took his eyes off the fire and never stopped the steady flow of perfect joints except to piss or take a couple tokes. Gary told us later he didn't need anything to get high, he was still on an acid trip that he'd been on for over a year. It began as a freak-out but after a time it eased enough for him to keep it mellow with a little weed.

Late into the night we heard some loud noises from the river then we heard the needle freaks singing:

When they got to our site a couple people retrieved them from the river. After they discovered that they were wet they started getting in the fire to dry off. We were kept busy for awhile pulling them out when they started to smoke. Finally they got started on getting a case of beer from their car. They discussed it for awhile then the shouting died down as they struggled up the mountain to the parking spot. Dave and I got really into it and talked about our climb in the morning. The needle freaks gave up after awhile, eventually, even they fell asleep. When it grew light enough to see we were disappointed to learn that the mountain was only a short slope.

After we ate and rested up from the night we went tubing down the rapids while other parties jumped into the river from the rocks. By the time we got home I was wiped out. Supper was almost ready so I laid down for a few minutes. When I woke up supper was over and there was no food left. I was peeved beacuse I went to bed around five and it'd only been a half hour before I got up. "You couldn't leave some for me?" I snapped at the first family member I saw. "What do you mean?" they asked. "Where's the food?" I growled. "What food?" was the answer. "Supper!" I shouted. People were grinning when I was told the pizza wasn't there yet. "Pizza?" I was puzzled. When I said, "Kat was making frito stuff when I laid down." They laughed and told me the punchline, "That was last night, you slept through a whole day."

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, 'NO, it's not.' Four is larger than two..'

We haven't used Sears repair since.

My daughter and I went through the McDonald 's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter. She said, 'you gave me too much money.' I said, 'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.' She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.' The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change..

I wake up every day around 1am from vivid, troubling dreams. I stay awak until 5am then sleep a couple hours but many times I'm up all day in a fog. I'm worried, when things get like this I've ended up in the hospital the last couple years. I hope I can break the cycle this year, what I wouldn't give for a few good nights' sleep.

Last year's winner was the fellow who was killed by a Coke machine which toppled over on top of him as he was attempting to tip a free soda out.

This year's winner was a real rocket scientist.

Semifinalist #1

A young Canadian man, searching for a way of getting drunk cheaply, because he had no money with which to buy alcohol, mixed gasoline with milk. Not surprisingly, this concoction made him ill, and he vomited into the fireplace in his house. This resulting explosion and fire burned his house down, killing both him and his sister.

Semifinalist #2

Three Brazilian men were flying in a light aircraft at low altitude when another plane approached. It appears that they decided to moon the occupants of the other plane, but lost control of their own aircraft and crashed. They were all found dead in the wreckage with their pants around their ankles.

Semifinalist #3

A 22-year-old Reston, VA , man was found dead after he tried to use octopus straps to bungee jump off a 70-foot railroad trestle. Fairfax County police said Eric Barcia, a fast food worker, taped a bunch of these straps together, wrapped an end around one foot, anchored the other end to the trestle at Lake Accotink Park, jumped and hit the pavement. Warren Carmichael, a police spokesman, said investigators think Barcia was alone because his car was found nearby. "The length of the cord that he had assembled was greater than the distance between the trestle and the ground," Carmichael said. Police say the apparent cause of death was 'Major trauma.'

A man in Alabama died from rattlesnake bites. It seems that he and a friend were playing a game of catch, using the rattlesnake as a ball. The friend -- no doubt a future Darwin Awards candidate -- was hospitalized.

Semifinalist #5

Employees in a medium-sized warehouse in west Texas noticed the smell of a gas leak. Sensibly, management evacuated the building extinguishing all potential sources of ignition; lights, power, etc.

After the building had been evacuated, two technicians from the gas company were dispatched. Upon entering the building, they found they had difficulty navigating in the dark. To their frustration, none of the lights worked. Witnesses later described the sight of one of the technicians reaching into his pocket and retrieving an object that resembled a cigarette lighter.

Upon operation of the lighter-like object, the gas in the warehouse exploded, sending pieces of it up to three miles away. Nothing was found of the technicians, but the lighter was virtually untouched by the explosion. The technician suspected of causing the blast had never been thought of as ''bright'' by his peers.

Now, the winner of this year's Darwin Award
(awarded, unfortunately, as always, posthumously):

The Arizona Highway Patrol came upon a pile of smoldering metal embedded in the side of a cliff rising above the road at the apex of a curve. The wreckage resembled the site of an airplane crash, but it was a car. The type of car was unidentifiable at the scene. Police investigators finally pieced together the mystery crash. An amateur rocket scientist ... had somehow gotten hold of a JATO unit (Jet Assisted Take Off, actually a solid fuel rocket) that is used to give heavy military transport planes an extra 'push' for taking off from short airfields. He had driven his Chevy Impala out into the desert and found a long, straight stretch of road. He attached the JATO unit to the car, jumped in, got up some speed and fired off the JATO!

The facts as best as could be determined are that the operator of the 1967 Impala hit the JATO ignition at a distance of approximately 3.0 miles from the crash site. This was established by the scorched and melted asphalt at that location.

The JATO, if operating properly, would have reached maximum thrust within 5 seconds, causing the Chevy to reach speeds well in excess of 350 mph and continuing at full power for an additional 20-25 seconds.

The driver, and soon to be pilot, would have experienced G-forces usually reserved for dog fighting F-14 jocks under full afterburners, causing him to become irrelevant for the remainder of the event. However, the automobile remained on the straight highway for about 2.5 miles (15-20 seconds) before the driver applied and completely melted the brakes, blowing the tires and leaving thick rubber marks on the road surface, then becoming airborne for an additional 1.4 miles and impacting the cliff face at a height of 125 feet leaving a blackened crater 3 feet deep in the rock. Most of the driver's remains were not recoverable. However, small fragments of bone, teeth and hair were extracted from the crater, and fingernail and bone shards were removed from a piece of debris believed to be a portion of the steering wheel.

Epilogue: It has been calculated that this moron attained a ground speed of approximately 420-mph, though much of his voyage was not actually on the ground.

There is a two-letter word in English that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.' It is listed in the dictionary as being used as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends and we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.

At other times the little word has a real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses

To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.

A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.

We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP !

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions

I just submitted my first book to a publisher last week, it could be four months before I get a response. In the meantime, I'm editing my second book. My mood is reasonably stable but I sleep alot. I'm quitting smoking, doing a pretty good job of it The goal is to be completely smoke-free in about three weeks when the Chantix runs out. I've put on alot of weight, partially because of quitting but mainly due to the heavy dose of Seroquel I was on. I take walks sometimes but am not worrying about the weight until I'm done with the cigs. I haven't been updating my blog much mainly because there's not been much else on my mind.

Trembles' mother was a half wild farm cat. He was born in a pig barn where his mother was trampled by a hog. We found him trembling in the hay and took him home.

When Trembles got closed up in his basement room he'd jump up on a worktable and paw at the doorknob until he got the door open.

No matter where he was he'd come running when we rang a bell.

When he got into fights he'd crouch in a window well so he could strike out and stay protected.

Every Sunday he'd climb a telephone pole and we'd have to call the fire department to come and get him down. He'd fight the firefighters so hard all they could do was grab him by the scruff of the neck and drop him in some bushes.

He fathered uncounted cats all over the neighborhood, his legacy most likely still lives on.

HOW TO FORWARD E-MAIL APPROPRIATELY

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% DO NOT.

Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it?

Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses & names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every e-mail address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and they will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel!

How do you stop it? Well, there are several easy steps:

(1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message (at the top). That's right, DELETE them. Highlight them and delete them, backspace them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only takes a second. You MUST click the 'Forward' button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message. If you don't click on 'Forward' first, you won't be able to edit the message at all.

(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: fields for adding e-mail addresses. Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way the people you send to will only see their own e-mail address. If you don't see your BCC: option click on where it says To: and your address list will appear. Highlight the address and choose BCC: and that's it, it's that easy. When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say 'Undisclosed Recipients' in the 'TO:' field of the people who receive it.

(3) Remove any 'FW :' in the subject line. You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling.

(4) ALWAYS hit your Forward button from the actual e-mail you are reading. Ever get those e-mails that you have to open 10 pages to read the one page with the information on it? By Forwarding from the actual page you wish someone to view, you stop them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent.

(5) Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition? It states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names and email addresses. FACT: The completed petition is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses contained therein. If you want to support the petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient. Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list of names and email address on a petition. (Actually, if you think about it, who's supposed to send the petition in to whatever cause it supports? And don't believe the ones that say that the email is being traced, it just ain't so

(6) One of the main ones I hate is the ones that say that something like, 'Send this email to 10 people and you'll see something great run across your screen.' Or, sometimes they'll just tease you by saying something really cute will happen. IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!! (Trust me, I'm still seeing some of the same ones that I waited on 10 years ago!) I don't let the bad luck ones scare me either, they get trashed. (Could be why I haven't won the lottery??)

(7) Before you forward an Amber Alert, or a Virus Alert, or some of the other ones floating around nowadays, check them out before you forward them. Most of them are junk mail that's been circling the net for YEARS! Just about everything you receive in an email that is in question can be checked out at Snopes. Just go to http://www.snopes.com/

Its really easy to find out if it's real or not. If it's not, please don't pass it on.

So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses. Finally, here's an idea!!! Let's send this to everyone we know
(but strip my address off first, please). This is something that SHOULD be forwarded.

I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone.

A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little mons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.

Additional Comment:

I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house.

I sucked at shop, my drafting designs was erased so much they were unrecognizable and all my projects were misshapen, but there are three things about it I'll never forget. On the first day of class we had to watch a film about Primitive Pete, the guy who uses a screwdriver to hammer nails. One day a friend and I were caught goofing off and had to write, "There is no horesplay allowed in shop." a thousand times so we had a contest to see who could do it in the least amount of space. I filled up both sides of a page, he used less than one side. Mostly, though, I remember what our shop teacher said at the beginning of every class, "Get you a stool, set down and shut up."

A Washington DC airport ticket agent offers some examples of why our country is in trouble:

1. I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window.

2. I got a call from a candidate's staffer, who wanted to go to Cape Town. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information. Then she interrupted me with, 'I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Cape Town is in Massachusetts.' Without trying to make her look stupid, I calmly explained, 'Cape Cod is in Massachusetts, Cape Town is in Africa.' Her response - click.

3. A senior Vermont Congressman called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando. He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state. He replied, 'Don't lie to me. I looked on the map and Florida is a very thin state!'

4. I got a call from a lawmaker's wife who asked, 'Is it possible to see England from Canada ?' I said, 'No.' She said, 'But they look so close on the map.'

7. A New York lawmaker called and asked, 'Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?' I said, 'No, why do you ask?' She replied, 'Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said 'FAT', and I'm overweight. I think that's very rude!' After putting her on hold for a minute while I looked into it. I came back and explained the city code for Fresno, CA is 'FAT' (Fresno Air Terminal), and the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage.

8. A Senator's aide called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, 'Would it be cheaper to fly to California, and then take the train to Hawaii ?'

9. I just got off the phone with a freshman Congressman who asked, 'How do I know which plane to get on?' I asked him what exactly he meant, to which he replied, 'I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.'

10. A lady Senator called and said, 'I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola, Florida. Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?' I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola, Fl. on a commuter plane. She said, 'Yeah, whatever, smarty!'

11. A senior Senator called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him that he needed a visa. 'Oh, no I don't. I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those.' I double checked and sure enough, his stay required a visa. When I told him this he said, 'Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!'

12. A New Mexico Congresswoman called to make reservations, 'I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York .' I was at a loss for words. Finally, I said, 'Are you sure that's the name of the town?' 'Yes, what flights do you have?' replied the lady. After some searching, I came back with, 'I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Rhino anywhere.' The lady retorted, 'Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!' So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, 'You don't mean Buffalo, do you?' The reply? 'Whatever! I knew it was a big animal.'

Research has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete.

We dated for a short time then my friends said things about her that I believed and I broke up with her. It wasn't until later that I realized that most of my friends weren't really friends, by then I was too sick and messed up on drugs to think of making amends for my wrongs.

A couple years ago my folks mentioned to me that they ran into Debbie, she worked at a mall, and she asked about me. Since then I've thought about her nearly every day and dreamed about her almost every night with Wild World playing in the background. I've tried locating her online to tell her how sorry I am but haven't been successful.

The Snail was depressed yesterday, Valentines Day. He's 25 and never had a girlfriend. He was on Seroquel or Zyprexa for several years and slept most of his life away (12+ hours a day). It not only screwed up his chances of meeting girls but it caused him to have such a poor work record it's extremely difficult for him to find a job. He even tried to take some college courses but he could never get up in time for classes. Add to that the fact that he's overweight and he can't see a future for himself.

Last month when I saw my doc he put me on a new med. I felt like crap for a month after. Alot of times it takes awhile to adjust so I endured it. I saw him again today, fearful that I'd have to start something new. When I told him what was going on he said I should've been taking double the dose. I felt pretty stupid when I left his office and even more so when I got home and looked at the label on the bottle. I'd laugh if it wasn't so scary.

I can't seem to find the meds that will help me maintain some kind of balance. I'm so doped up these days I feel like I'm drunk all the time. I stagger around bumping into things, sometimes I sit around like a drooling idiot. The problem is, I can't get stabilized, as doped up as I am if I'm even an hour late on my meds I start getting manic. I've pretty much given up on trying to work, I have to be dosed in the afternoon and soon after I start making mistakes. The last time I worked I gave a lady change for a 5 when she gave me 20. She seemed pretty cool about but a little later she waved manager over to her table and they talked awhile. When my drawer was counted I was 6 bucks short, usually I was never more than a few cents off. The worst part is my speech starts slurring and I have trouble understanding what people say. I need the money but, even though I could get unemployment, I hate the thought of being fired, That rarely happens at Fast-n-Eat, unless there's theft involved they just leave people off the schedule until they get fed up and quit..
